RCMP tips to make trick-or-treating fun, safe

As little ghosts, princesses, and superheroes come knocking on doors tonight; officials are offering tips to trick-or-treaters and drivers, on how to make tonight a safe Halloween.

“What I actually miss is kinda the whole suspense about seeing different costumes and also the community-building with my neighbors, who I didn’t see on a regular basis”, said Hannah Brewer-Jensen, a senior.

Parents should also take precautions when it comes to their children’s Halloween garb, Burstein said.

First, adults who are attending parties we would remind you to use a designated driver.

They should make sure a responsible adult or guardian is with them.

Children should be encouraged to call only on their friends.

– Inspect all candy before allowing your children to eat it. Toss out anything that looks suspicious, is unwrapped, or appears to have been tampered with. And teach them that they should make every effort to get away by kicking, screaming and resisting.
