After a lot of wrangling, the PS4 version of Fallout 4 will have mods for it after all. You’re getting the entire game, all of its DLC (which ranges from decent to great) and the addition of mod support on consoles, with mod support in particular being an easy sell for console players. Bethesda are reportedly working on a solution at the time of writing. Most of the mods like the ones I’ve mentioned above are barely accessible on Xbox One and are downright impossible on Playstation 4.
However, the PS4 Pro is receiving some special attention, with Sony’s latest console capable of pumping out Skyrim Special Edition at 4K with an improved framerate. But minus those hang-ups you can get to modding right away. For many, particularly those used to the total mod freedom of the PC version, this will be a hard deal-breaker. The Special Edition doesn’t go for sweeping character model and animation overhauls like I and many other players had hoped, but it does enhance the world’s occasionally meaningful details. Many of them were first developed for the original Skyrim, so you’ll find some familiar faces in there, too.

If you don’t like Bethesda’s mod repository, you can try out Nexus. For now, the PS4 mod library comes with 11 mods that you can choose from, while there are 69 mods for the Xbox One. Never again, dear readers!
The Bethesda alternative is bad, I’m sorry to say. On the other hand, in the short term it will be more limited in terms of what mods you can play until the community updates them to work with the 64-bit version, and therefore much less capable.

Some modders focus on the minutiae others would disregard, bringing surprising changes to the game. The particular mod installation interface inside the game was implemented particularly for this reason. They have noticed that there is a significant difference between the two materials, especially when listening to it through headphones or good speakers.
