Kevin Durant: Anthony Davis will ‘probably lead league in scoring’

After his team narrowly pulled out a 106-100 victory in the desert Sunday, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr admitted that during a portion of the contest his players were frustrated with how slowly everything is coming along. My point being is that something on this Warriors team had to get worse so they could get “better” than they already were. Curry hit two free throws with 12.9 left, and the Suns didn’t score again.

Golden State had their biggest lead – seven points – at 101-94 after a Durant alley-oop lay-up from Andre Iguodala with 1min 19sec left.

T.J. Warren scored 26 points for the Suns who remain winless despite two creditable performances against title contenders, having taken Oklahoma City to overtime on Friday. Additionally, he was more than effective in rebounds, falling just one carom short of his career high 18 boards.

“Game 3 with a young squad, have a chance to beat OKC on the road, have a chance to beat Golden State at home”, Phoenix coach Earl Watson said.

The Suns had a 9-point lead at 54-45 until things got weird, and KD made some shots, and suddenly it was a measly 57-55 Suns lead at half. Golden State led 59-50 at halftime, but Frazier scored 11 points as New Orleans took a 74-73 lead midway through the third quarter.

He’s gone down in field goal attempts as well, taking 15.8 per game per 36 minutes compared to 18.7 last season.

The Golden State Warriors will seek their second straight win in their visit to fellow Pacific Division team, the Phoenix Suns.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are fortunate to have Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry around to bail out the fits-and-starts offense.

Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell scored 20 points apiece for the Lakers. “50 for him is a good game, and now [he’s like] move it to the next one”, Durant said. “Devin’s tough. If you watch him, he’s been limping around a lot”. He has no excuses or anything. He missed some time at the end of the first half and went to the locker room, but played in and started the second half.

“They told me they needed my isolation prowess, I guess, they just need me to be aggressive in isolations and I think that draws fouls”, Durant said.

“I’ve cant’ make no excuses”. Building trust. There are times when one Warrior knows or feels where another will be. I’m kind of anxious on some of my shots. We’ve just got to get over the hump.

If the numbers are not impressive enough, it gets better for Curry. He immediately assessed a technical foul. The combined 65 points were what Golden State Warriors fans had envisioned when the franchise surprised the National Basketball Association by acquiring the services of the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar in free agency this past summer. Against the Phoenix Suns, their backup players did not produce much.
