‘Walking Dead’: Norman Reedus Explains Why Negan ‘Respects’ Daryl
“Last week’s episode of “#The Walking Dead” allowed audiences to see what Carol was up to, and this week, the show expands its reach further to take us inside the Sanctuary to see just what happened to Daryl when Negan took him away from the group in the season premiere.

You had to eat a lot of fake dog food sandwiches in this episode. “Dwight, he begged me not to kill Sherry, which I thought was cute, so I was just going to kill him”, Negan revealed. Before leaving, Negan told him to choose his fate wisely and whistled as he walked off, sending goosebumps down our spines. “He sees a challenge”. And while there are undertones he may not be the most terrible human being in the world (You feel sorry for him in some respects), Dwight is clearly loyal to Negan. It is surrounded by a walker “fence” or “wall” very similar to what we saw at La Colonia on FTWD. And Dwight doesn’t want to get killed or off upend his own life. But Dwight’s wife made a deal with the villainous Negan to save Dwight – she would marry Negan instead.
A day comes when Dwight enters with Daryl’s crossbow in hand and tosses the prisoner matching grey sweatpants and sweatshirt. Daryl tries to escape from the cell. While nearly everyone expects the Kingdom to go awry at some point, they’ve built up a nice community there, and it’s one that Morgan has fit right into.
She also speaks to Daryl, reiterating how he should give in to Negan. This is Daryl we’re talking about people, so following the rules is not something he does well, which led to a confrontation with Negan and his gang.
What will happen to Rick and Daryl after the events that unfolded? That’s easy, said Reedus: “Glenn”.
3. Everything (and Everyone!) Belongs to Negan: Remember Dwight? But there are several similarities between him and Dwight (who does exist in the comic). Negan explains how Dwight came to rise so high in his ranks. Negan sees him as a strong man who could be a sacred thing in her community. “Why you took it”, he said to Dwight. That didn’t turn out so well though, and they eventually wound up back there. But when Cam, a fellow Savior and former friend of Dwight, escapes the compound and Dwight catches up to him, the mask slips a little. Negan agreed, but horrifically scarred Dwight’s face as punishment for leaving.
It’s that time again folks. Let’s talk about his relationship with Daryl, though, since the dynamic was very different in this episode.
“I was asking one of the producers what song they used, because it was originally written as a children’s song”, Reedus told TheWrap. “Yet he started this show with this chip on his shoulder …” Plus, we’ve included a pair of streaming options, including for Amazon Video in case you can’t watch live on television.

“It was kind of amusing, though, because I dropped the robe and I’m butt naked and the whole crew and camera department – it was like they were watching a tennis match – they all just looked to the left”, he said laughing.
