Trump campaign: Obama, Clinton call to congratulate Trump on victory
In case 2008 feels like a distant memory at this point, remember that Biden also ran a campaign to be the Democratic nominee for president that year, which he, obviously, did not win.

Wearing neither blue nor red, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered to work with President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday in an emotional concession speech after losing a long, polarizing campaign that shocked pollsters, pundits and the nation.
Obama said it was “no secret” that he had “some pretty significant differences” with Trump. “I did as well”, Obama said in the White House Rose Garden. “Period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again”.
He stressed that it’s important to provide smooth transition of power as it is the “hallmark of the United States democracy”.
Addressing her young supporters, she said: “You will have successes and setbacks too. We try even harder the next time”.
The spokesman said President Obama invited Trump to White House on Thursday to discuss the presidential transition. Sheryl Crow sang on Mrs. Clinton’s pre-rally music loop on the campaign trail.
Comey said in July that Clinton and her aides were “extremely careless” in handling classified information, but that criminal prosecution wasn’t warranted. They had already iced champagne and inflated pink “It’s a Girl” balloons.
Then came the release of shocking old video footage from an “Access Hollywood” bus in which Trump bragged about being able to grope women because he was famous. In his remarks to supporters, he praised her for a hard-fought campaign and said Americans owe her a major debt of gratitude for her long service to the country. In Portland, Oregon, reportedly hundreds of anti-Trump protesters burned American flags and chanted “that’s not my president” while blocking traffic and causing rail delays.
Like Clinton and other Democrats, Obama didn’t appear to see Trump’s victory coming. Obama and Clinton are in a less perilous situation; Obama can not run for president again, and Clinton’s political career is also likely over.
Schulman says all the material will be preserved with the National Archives and Records Administration, just like previous presidents have done with their handwritten notes, emails, faxes and so on.
Some 12 per cent of the electorate was African-American this year, compared to 13 per cent four years ago. “At a concert she said ‘we have a black Muslim in the White House”. Other Republicans are upset over Ryan’s frigid treatment of Trump. In 2012, Mr Obama won 71 per cent of the Hispanic vote.
Mr Trump also wants to deliver the “largest tax cuts since Ronald Reagan”, totalling $4.4 trillion to boost jobs and help double growth.
Beyond the Obama coalition, Ms Clinton was also not as popular with white voters as Mr Obama was. President-elect Donald Trump will take office in January with Republicans controlling the House and the Senate.
