Curry leads Warriors to rout of Nuggets

We have the Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets. After a Nuggets miss on the next possession, Curry grabbed the rebound and started navigating upcourt. But Curry had another shooting clinic in the third quarter, sinking four more three-pointers as the Warriors built their biggest lead at 31, 97-66, near the end of the frame.

But that all changed in the Warriors’ win over the Nuggets as he finished with 18. McGee entered the game in the first quarter and the Warriors immediately went on an 11-0 run, with his teammates clearly looking to get him the ball around the basket. Stephen Curry was a focal point of the Warriors offense, leading the game in assists with 7.

The Golden State Warriors won 73 games last season, have the two-time defending NBA MVP, and the winners of the last three MVP awards on their roster, but they still keep finding new ways to make history, despite two early season losses this year. Both Dray and Klay have sunk seven threes over the course of the past two games, on 10 and 12 attempts, respectively.

Come on, Steph Curry.

Curry broke the single-game 3-point record on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans, hitting an astounding 13-out-of-17 triples (76 percent).

Durant’s overall numbers with the Warriors aren’t quite as prolific, but he’s executing with a devastating efficiency that matches what he was doing for some of those insane stretches during his MVP season.

Michael Jordan managed to play 72 games without scoring below 20 points.

But Kerr’s pulling of Durant was also a clear indicator of how the Warriors are going to approach this season, with the prioritizing of the team’s long term goals over short term statistical achievements now an apparent point of emphasis. He finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists. All together that’s 84 hot quarters – an average of more than one per game.

Durant’s streak began on November 23, 2015, while with Oklahoma City.

To create a sliver of space, but probably more just to show off, Curry slipped a lefty dribble through his legs and curled it back to his left hand, bouncing up into his shooting pocket.

The star guard sank 13 to set an National Basketball Association mark – one game after missing all his 3-point tries for the first time in two years – and the Golden State Warriors beat the winless New Orleans Pelicans 116-106 on Monday. Golden State enters play tonight with a 6-2 record overall and a 3-5 mark against the spread, while Denver is 3-4 SU and 5-2 ATS. Not in game No. 9 of the season.
