Steelers Rookie Corner Golson Has Shoulder Surgery
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie cornerback Senquez Golson had shoulder surgery Friday morning and according to David Todd of ESPN 970, it included repairing a torn labrum.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told PennLive’s Jacob Klinger that the move was made because “it’s a natural way for [Wild] to continue to get reps and show some versatility and help us in an area where the lines are short”.
Golson said early in camp the problem persisted over the summer.
Golson, taken 56th overall in the draft, has been on the team’s physically unable to perform list since the start of training camp.
“Being a young guy and being in this environment, we thought that a lot could be gleamed from that and thought that it could be a great experience for him whether or not he was participating”, Tomlin said.
Boykin, who tied for second in interceptions in 2013 with six, has fit in nicely in the Steelers’ secondary despite being acquired a week into training camp. “Hopefully the weeks have been beneficial for him”. Tomlin praised Golson’s effort but said the shoulder had gotten to the point where it was time to get it fixed. Tomlin, though, said the Steelers had interest in acquiring Boykin even before Golson’s injury.
