FBI Director Criticized After Reopening Investigation Against Clinton

“I believe that Director Comey made an error in judgement”, Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) said, during a stop Tuesday morning at a coffee shop on the UW-Madison campus.

Mr Comey concluded in July that Mrs Clinton had been “extremely careless” in handling classified information, but there were no grounds for any charges.

As she has in the past, Clinton also said it was a “mistake” for her to use a private server during her tenure at the State Department. So far, the only Democrat on Capitol Hill to do that is Rep. Steve Cohen.

“They said it wasn’t even a close call”, she said. “The danger for Trump is he descends into “lock her up” chants and never delivers a closing message that appeals beyond his base”.

“We would have a criminal trial for a sitting president”, Trump said.

Some 44 per cent of likely voters said they would support Clinton, while 39 per cent said they would support Trump, according to the October 26-30 Reuters/Ipsos poll. “Nobody in this room has more faith now”. “It’s not just unusual, it’s unprecedented, and it’s deeply troubling”, she told a crowd of about 900.

The FBI inquiry reviewed allegations that Trump or his associates might have violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or engaged in contacts or commerce with people in Russian Federation who are subject to U.S. or worldwide financial sanctions.

A person familiar with the investigation said the device that appears to be at the center of the new review belonged only to Weiner and was not a computer he shared with Abedin. “We can’t let him get away with this”.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director James Comey met Monday to discuss reviewing as swiftly as possible the newly discovered emails that could be related to their probe of Hillary Clinton’s private server, officials told NBC News.

The White House steered clear on Monday of direct criticism of Comey, who was appointed by Democratic President Barack Obama in 2013. Stop attacking [House Speaker] Paul Ryan. “But this is a Republican who is there and we’re going to win this thing”.

Since then, she has been Hillary Clinton’s aide, traveling chief of staff for her 2008 presidential campaign, deputy chief of staff to Clinton as secretary of state, and vice chairwoman of the current presidential campaign. This weekend, the Republican standard-bearer was in the midst of a swing through such usually non-battleground states-New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and MI. Abedin said she only accessed her clintonemail.com account through a web portal and that she did not have a method for archiving her old emails prior to the transition, according to the FBI’s summary of her statements.

“As you know, the FBI has reopened its investigation into Hillary Clinton and discovered another 650,000 emails”, Trump announced. Republican Donald Trump has seized on the Federal Bureau of Investigation decision, gleeful over getting a new opportunity to hammer Clinton’s trustworthiness and perhaps change the trajectory of a race that appeared to be slipping away from him.

Campaign manager Robby Mook called the report evidence of a “blatant double standard”.

Gowdy: “Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her emails sent or received”.

“I think the same rules ought to apply”, he added.

“For her to find some way to ruin that within a week’s time, I think that’s impossible at this point”.
