As other competitors bring electric cars to the mainstream market, it is only logical for Jaguar to join the competition. “I-Pace” is powered by 90kWh lithium-ion battery than can charged up to 80% in 1.5 hours and 100% charging in 2 hours using 50kW DC charging. It reaches 60mph from standstill in about four seconds and offers up 516 torque from the two electric motors.

With this e-crossover, Jaguar is looking to offer sports car-like performance, combined with the look of an SUV and the practicality of a 5-seater family auto.
Somewhat recently, Jaguar Land Rover signed a long-term contract with Magna to build two mysterious cars at the Graz plant, and it looks like one of them will be the I-Pace, starting with 2018.

I-PACE’s launch was not just theatrical-with all guests connected to the same shared live VR experience-it was also the first of its kind.

Technologically, vehicle is equipped with two touch panels which serve with very minute alerts and notifications with well-versed user experience and to give a better driving experience. It features one permanent magnet electric motor each, on the front and rear axles, which develop 200PS and 350Nm individually. This alone has increased the I-Pace’s range by up to 50km, even in freezing conditions. There has been no official word on if Jaguar is going to include any autonomous driving tech it has been developing on the I-Pace, but Wired certainly hopes it does.
