What Should Feminists Make of Megyn Kelly?

The former Fox News anchor spoke to Good Morning America’s Amy Robach her experiences with sexual harassment which began after she was crowned Miss America and continued throughout her journalism career.

And with good reason.

In July 2016, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson filed a lawsuit against Ailes, claiming sexual harassment and retaliation. She is on a book tour this week, one week after Trump won the presidential election.

“We’re still in an environment where you’re not going to be believed”, she said.

“It means that if somebody does something Mr. Trump doesn’t like, I do everything in my power to resolve it to Mr. Trump’s benefit”, Cohen said in an interview with ABC News.

Trump called her before the first debate to complain about a segment she did on his divorce from Ivana Trump.

Asked by CBS’ O’Donnell whether or not she believed she was making her company look bad, Kelly said that “I believe that Roger Ailes made the company look bad”.

Kelly became a figure of hate among Trump’s most vocal supporters because of her tough treatment of the President-elect during his victorious but highly criticised campaign.

“I’m warning you, tread very fucking lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting”, Cohen told them.

ABC News said it’s Carlson’s first television interview about the sexual harassment she endured through her life. In fact, she is just one of seven other women, who accused the Fox News CEO of engaging in inappropriate behavior with them!

In 1996, Laurie was recruited by Roger to work under him at Fox News.

Luhn said that the threat of blackmail was always evident, and Ailes would take photos of her and refer to them as his insurance policy to keep her loyal to him. “If I was looking for a daddy figure”, she said. When Megyn Kelly, the rising star of Fox News, made such accusations against Ailes, it was clear that his days were numbered at the network. Host Norah O’Donnell asked him about Kelly’s book, and he said he wasn’t interested in it. If that name sounds familiar, it surfaced earlier this year in a New York Magazine piece documenting a two-decade-long spell of harassment and psychological torment that Ailes allegedly heaped upon Luhn. It was in that conversation that Trump unfurled a baleful threat: “Oh, I nearly unleashed my attractive Twitter account against you, and I still may”. The forum incited its members to criticise the book, tanking it with negative comments, with one post reading: “Megyn Kelly’s new book on Amazon (link included)”.

But he said if another network is “going to try and bait me to say bad things about my network, I am not gonna do it”.

Upset about Kelly airing an unflattering segment related to his long-ago divorce from Ivana Trump, the mogul berates her in a phone call: “That story never should have been on your show”.
