GOP Official: I Used Ashley Madison For ‘Opposition Research’

More than 10,000 government accounts have been identified as being associated with the Ashley Madison data hack. “Have an Affair” – on Tuesday condemned the hacking and data release, calling it an attempt at moral vigilantism.

Originally, 21 emails were linked to city and state accounts, but now city leaders said that number has been reduced to 10. It’s completely legal and a personal matter unless you signed up using your government work email. The messages ends with a life lesson to the exposed Ashley Madison users about funneling their anger toward ALM and not them.

“This event is not an act of hacktivism, it is an act of criminality”, the company said in a statement posted to its website. A lot of the email addresses are unverified.

“It does not shock me at all”, said Divorce Attorney Randy Kessler who’s now working cases stemming from the hack connected to the site.

In the U.S., the hack drew a public apology from Josh Duggar, former star of “19 Kids and Counting“, which centered on the life of the large – and apparently wholesome – Duggar family. Hackers have leaked user data and other information from the matchmaking website for cheating spouses.

Topping the list of most Ashley Madison subscribers are Buckhead, Ormewood Park, Decatur, Sandy Springs and Snellville according to the site’s 2015 cheating neighborhood map. “They had the privacy standards they’re expected to adhere to in order to safeguard people’s information”, Robins said.

“We were in Avid Life Media a long time to understand and get everything”, the website quoted the hackers as saying.

Email addresses connected to numerous government departments and state agencies have also been found including accounts from RTÉ, the HSE, An Garda Síochána, the Department of Agriculture and the Defence Forces. Within the dump, available through the Dark Web and via torrent, appears to contain information stolen from Ashley Madison’s parent company.
