Seahawks putting hopes of run game on Prosise, Rawls

Last week, the Seahawks waived Christine Michael.

As for Prosise, the wide receiver-turned-running back has an opportunity to take on an increased role with the offense. “So here comes Thomas [Rawls], and we’ll fill it in as we go”. “You can see how he’s capable”.

Michael has the only 100-yard game by a Seattle running back this season when he rushed for 106 yards against San Francisco in Week 3.

Prosise caught seven passes for 87 yards against New England and the Patriots were helpless to stop him.

Rawls figures to continue to receive the bulk of the carries, while rookie Alex Collins should be handed an increased workload if Prosise is forced to miss extended game action.

The duo of Thomas and strong safety Kam Chancellor are just two of the challenges rookie Carson Wentz has to face when the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Seattle today. “He’s a really good part of the run game, so we think he’s really sharp in that area. The toughness mentality he brings, the way he finished runs and hard to bring down, those are all things that we’re looking forward to having”. “He’s got excellent quickness”, Carroll said.

“I don’t know why – it’s wonderful to see”, he said of the injury rate, which as many as 17 players combined may have left the game at least for awhile. “We’ve been waiting for that to happen”.

“Day by day, brick by brick, you just get through the day, get better with that day and learn from my mistakes”, Fant said.

That seemingly restocked Seahawks running game is suddenly bare again. Prosise went down with a shoulder injury and backup Troymaine Pope hurt his ankle.

“Dynamic football player. I love his running style”, McCarthy said. “I thought it was a great first game for him”.

The play resonated with his teammates, who erupted on the sideline after seeing Prosise show a level of physical play that was sometimes missing with Michael. “We will see how that works”. The Seahawks haven’t used him even while former starting left tackle Bradley Sowell was out with a sprained knee. Carroll said undrafted rookie George Farmer, a converted defensive back from USC who played respectably in the preseason, is “a prospect” to be elevated from the practice squad.
