NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said no votes were taken Tuesday, even on an informal basis.
The Chargers and Raiders made a Carson presentation that lasted 30 minutes, plus 5 minutes of questions and solutions.
He said the proposed Carson stadium would be ready in time for the 2019 season.
All signs point to the Chargers bolting out of their current dilapidated stadium in Mission Valley to a $1.7 billion state of the art venue in Carson. On the other hand, a new stadium is what drew the Raiders back to Oakland from Los Angeles.
As for the “additional dilemma”?
The St. Louis Rams also are pitching a stadium near Los Angeles worldwide Airport to the north.
The earliest teams can apply to move is January 2016. “On a personal note, I’m very impressed with the effort, the effectiveness, the professionalism and the progress that the St. Louis task force has made”. Policy said he got the impression it would be decided by the Super Bowl.
Literally, nothing. Meetings between local politicians and developers who want to build stadiums in Alameda or in the proposed Coliseum City megadevelopment have gone nowhere.
According to City Attorney Jan Goldsmith, the report will stand up to scrutiny because the project only envisions replacing a stadium with a slightly smaller version. “We’re a great city that supports the NFL and the Chargers”.
The Raiders and Chargers made their case first, with Carmen Policy as its pitchman. “These teams have been born and bred in California and never left California”. “They’ve always been in California”.
St. Louis owner Stan Kroenke will give an update on his competing bid to build a stadium in Inglewood.
The former football executive leading the charge by the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders to jointly build a stadium in Carson says he is “absolutely certain” the teams will be based in the Los Angeles area by 2019. It’s up to the owners to pick one. The team’s chief operating officer, Kevin Demoff, has attended planning meetings, while Kroenke, the team’s owner, has remained out of the spotlight.

August 11, 2015Policy also said #Raiders #Chargers owners Mark Davis & Dean Spanos fully committed to L.A. Been that way for awhile. The concentration of fans and companies in the Los Angeles area, the nation’s second-largest market, could lift sales of tickets, merchandise and sponsorships and enhance the NFL’s media rights. “In my experience it’s rare for two jurisdictions to come together and commit dollars in such a short amount of time, both for the capital expansion and for funding the EIR and all the professionals that they needed to get in to this competition”. The Rams are promising 45,000 within a mile of the stadium.
