My hope for the kids who have the same dreams of playing division I football as I had helping other people and my hope is that I’ve done that here at OU. If the Cowboys would have been aggressive, pushed for a field goal, at least, it would seem to swing that momentum back.

But in a practical sense, the rule penalized a player like Mayfield, who simply wanted to play his college career at a more advantageous place for his future development.
