In Oakland, the county, as well as Ingham County, had been scheduled to start their recounts on Friday morning until the campaign of Donald Trump filed an objection to the recount request and a lawsuit in the state Court of Appeals to try and stop the recount from going forward.

A recount began Monday in Nevada at a county election warehouse near Las Vegas where officials say they expect it will take all week to review votes.

On Sunday in MI, where Trump won by a razor-thin 11,000-vote margin, the federal judge Mark Goldsmith ruled that the state’s recount must begin Monday at noon. But the state’s top election official, Pedro Cortes, has said there is “no evidence whatsoever” of voting irregularities in Pennsylvania. The report, while saying that a hack may be unlikely, highlighted concerns that hackers may have infiltrated the electronic voting systems in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Wisconsin’s recount began last week.
Stein argued that a law is unconstitutional that requires a break of at least two business days after the Board of Canvassers’ final action on a recount request.
MI has started its presidential election recount. After all, as Stein said at a press conference/rally of sorts outside Trump Tower this morning, “What is he so afraid of?” It’s rare for a judge to hold a hearing on the weekend.
“The sad reality is that the voting system in Pennsylvania is a disgrace and a disaster”, Jonathan Abady, lead counsel for Stein’s recount effort, added on Monday.
Stein, who received a little more than 1 per cent of the nationwide popular vote on November 8, is spearheading recounts in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The Green Party’s candidate and her supporters filed for emergency relief in Pennsylvania’s federal court to pay the bond. “So we are standing firm for the hard fought and hard won right to vote, particularly for people of colour in this country”, said Ms Stein. Green Party lawyers filed a lawsuit in a Philadelphia federal court earlier Monday asking a judge to order a recount in Pennsylvania.

Federal law requires states to resolve disputes over the appointment of electors by December 13, adding pressure on Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to wrap up any recounts.
