Daniel Brezenoff started the online petition, on Change.org, last month in a bid to reach six million supporters and strip Donald Trump of the United States presidency.
The Trump-won states where electors could still vote for Clinton do not have laws against so-called “faithless electors”, those who decide to vote against the candidate who won the state they’re in, according to FairVote, a nonprofit for free elections. He has 306 Electoral College votes to Clinton’s 232.

“I wanted him to be presidential, but since the election he hasn’t grown into our institution, he’s attacked them”. The group claims to have convinced one elector to abandon Trump so far.
