Nintendo Switch will be based on Nvidia’s previous generation Maxwell architecture, featuring a custom Tegra part, and not the new generation Pascal, sources have told GamesBeat. This is why it is settling for the aging Maxwell system.
In the meantime, VentureBeat learned some details about the Nintendo Switch specs and apparently they won’t be all that impressive.
It’s an option that Nintendo will certainly be fine with.
The Nintendo Switch may not be as powerful as the PS4 but players can still play Nintendo games on it easily.
Again, it’s just a report and rumor at this point. More information will be announced on january 12, according to Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, who debuted the hybrid console on television when he appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
According to the report, waiting on the Pascal architecture would’ve meant pushing back the Switch launch’s timeframe. Meanwhile, the long-awaited 1080p could be shown when the console is placed in the Dock to play on the television screen, because this basis provide extra ventilation for Nintendo Switch to use its maximum power.
Third-person adventure game Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is said to be particularly well suited to the Nintendo Switch. “As seen on the introductory video (see below), part of Nintendo Switch package is a mobile device type 720p 6.2” a multi-touch screen display. Nintendo has implied it can handle good looking games like Skyrim and National Basketball Association 2K in the trailer for the console. The console is expected to have a slew of popular Nintendo games, including the much-touted Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
