Online seller of literally everything Amazon.com made history last week when the company made its first drone delivery to a customer.

Typically, when we talk about Amazon’s Prime Video, it’s in the context of Netflix.
Trials are starting small, with a few customers, but will slowly grow to include dozens of customers and eventually hundreds. The warehouse, which serves only two customers for now, is a heavily stocked fulfillment center that can deliver packages of five pounds or less in 30 minutes or less.
Drone delivery is now a reality for select customers in the United Kingdom and multiple tests are underway to do the same in the U.S.
Inc. Chief Executive Jeff Bezos announced the company’s first successful commercial drone delivery on Wednesday.
Amazon’s drone delivery fleet has crossed the ocean. The company is beginning broader delivery trials in an attempt to gather safety data to justify expansion of the program.
The Amazon drone delivery trials is now only available to customers close to a specialized warehouse in UK.
For customers in the new markets, the service is being offered at an introductory price of $2.99 per month for the first six months, instead of the standard $5.99.
Amazon Prime Video features movies listed in various genres like comedy, drama action, thrillers, crime, Bollywood, animated, horror and romance. So while you may now be impressed with two-day or even same-day delivery, maybe one day soon, you’ll sniff at anything other than half-hour delivery.
Then the drone takes to the skies. Amazon said it took 13 minutes for the customer to get the package in Cambridge via Amazon’s own specialised drone. The drones then take off and fly completely autonomously, guided by Global Positioning System to their destination and are capable of carrying items weighing up to 2.7kg.
Amazon Prime members can expect to see critically acclaimed shows like The Man in the High Castle, Mozart in the Jungle, Hand of God, Red Oaks and more.

While routine commercial drones flights have been approved in the USA, they’re not allowed over people and must stay within sight of an operator on the ground.
