First Baptist slates Christmas services,/b

First Southern Baptist Church will be hosting a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day, there will only be a 10:45 a.m. worship service.

They have been serving at Wheaton United Methodist Church.

Wy’east Community Church – the brown church in Odell, 3422 Odell Highway – is hosting a Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. on December 24.

Prairie View United Methodist Church, 28309 Sunny Brook Road, Smithwick, will hold a Christmas Eve worship service at 5 p.m. December 24.

Valencia United Methodist Church hosts Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. December 18, 11 a.m.: Christmas pro-gram, God Sent an Angel, everyone welcome, 423-366-1267.

Plain Baptist Church, 3746 Johnson Mountain Road, Evington, entitled: “A Perfect Christmas”, sponsored by the United Sunday School Fellowship of Evington & Vicinity, followed by a fellowship dinner. A Christmas Day service will be held at 9:30 a.m. December 25.

Leaders at multi-site Edmond-based Life.Church, unarguably the largest of the churches to forego Christmas Day services, said they are encouraging church members to spend Christmas Day with family. A Christmas Eve candlelighting service will be held at 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.

Christmas Cantata, 3 p.m., Bethany United Methodist Church, behind Virginia Mark off 221, Forest, entitled: “Come Let Us Adore”. Clark was pastor of the church from 1956-1962. The church will have a watch night service at 10:30 p.m. December 31 at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Grimesland.

Leaders at churches like North.Church and Norman’s JourneyChurch.tv shared similar sentiments. She said the first of these identical holiday-themed worship experiences was offered on December 16.

December 21 – Longest Night service, 7 p.m. Silence, prayers and candle lighting. A Christmas service will take place at 9 a.m. A worship service will be held at 11 a.m. December 25.

Divine Praise Ministries, 2895 N.C. 17 S., Chocowinity, will host “A Holy House” at 8 p.m.December 30. Michael Rosin, Director of Music Ministries at First Baptist, is the composer of this work and he will be conductor for the upcoming concert.

Some may not think this is the best time of the year, nor is it a “Holly Jolly Christmas”, said First Presbyterian Church Rev. Andrew Long. It’s going to be a little different than what we usually do. Also in 2017, First Baptist will compile a 150 anniversary time capsule that will be preserved on church property.

Lewiston’s Seventh-day Adventist church will hold its 45th annual Christmas Cantata titled “Bringing Christmas Home” at 4:30 p.m. today at 1212 19th St. Refreshments will be available following the service.

Christian Baptist (Mature) Singles will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Baptist Retirement East Village Clubhouse, 902 N. Main St., for a Christmas gathering with fellowship and games.
