Another wintry weekend with snow and brutally cold wind chills

Snow accumulations from one to four inches are expected Saturday night, with amounts north of I-88 and I-290. Highs return to below-average levels to start next week, but turn milder as we head for Christmas. “There could be a little bit of rain, and hopefully some improving travel”.

Regional National Weather Service offices have issued winter-weather advisories today for all of northwest OH and southeast MI in anticipation of an approaching winter storm.

Snow will continue to be likely before 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by freezing rain between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Rain is then expected after 2 p.m.

The NWS has issued a winter storm watch for parts of our area starting Friday at 2 pm and lasting through Saturday evening. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Low pressure is expected to bring accumulating snow Tonight into early Saturday morning.

Advisories for Toledo, Findlay, Tiffin, Sandusky, and southeast MI are posted from 7 p.m. today until noon Saturday.

Significant winter storm to impact the area tonight through Friday night.

There’s a chance of snow Monday. A small section of the state – between Nashua and Windham, coastal Rockingham County, up to Portsmouth – will see between 1 and 3 inches of snow. Icing of 0.1 to 0.2 inches can be expected by early Saturday morning. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
