Obama Talks Russian Hacking, US Vulnerabilities in Final Press Conference of 2016
Trump again tweeted about the hacking last week, writing, “If Russia, or some other entity, was hacking, why did the White House wait so long to act?”

Amid concerns about Russian intervention to help elect Mr Trump, members of the Electoral College have been bombarded with calls to postpone this final seal of approval – or choose a different candidate for the presidency.
Of the 2,000 people surveyed between December 15-17, 44 percent said they believe Russian Federation played no role in the contest between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Asked if it was a free and fair election, Podesta replied: “I think it was distorted by the Russian intervention, let’s put it that way”.
The consensus of US intelligence agencies and at least three private security firms have independently investigated the security breaches and concluded that the Russian government – in the words of the USA intelligence community – “directed” the hacking “to interfere with the US election process”.
But the Trump campaign denied that this ever happened, and the Foreign Ministry clarified to the New York Times that Ryabkov meant Russian officials had met with Trump’s political allies and supporters, not his campaign staff directly.
“This is my last election”, Obama said. At home, a Secretary of Education who doesn’t believe in public education; a Secretary of Energy who wanted to close the Department of Energy; an administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency who is suing the agency; a Secretary of Health and Human Services committed to dismantling the major programs of the agency, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Priebus suggested that the Trump team accepts CIA Director John Brennan’s statement that Russian Federation was involved.
Either way, it’s time for the Democrats to thank the Clintons for their decades of service and usher them off the national stage. Burr stated that the committee will interview officials from both the Trump and Obama administration. It is not productive to re-hash election results, downplay Russian involvement, or disparage intelligence agencies he will soon rely upon.
“It’s very much unknown whether there was collusion”, Podesta said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”.
Donna Brazile, interim head of the Democratic National Committee, said the DNC was no match for a sophisticated foreign power in cyberspace that “weaponized” private emails to “sow misinformation and to sow discord” between Clinton and her primary rival, Vermont Sen. “There was nothing done on Election Day, so it must have worked”. According to unnamed USA officials, the warning Obama’s senior advisors urged him to send to Russian President Vladimir Putin was this: “Mess with the vote and we will consider it an act of war”.

In separate remarks, Schumer, the incoming Senate minority leader, also called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to form a select committee to investigate the hack attacks. Numerous choices have no government experience. And Trump-who has previously characterized the allegations as “ridiculous” and “just another excuse”-similarly took to Twitter on Sunday night to complain about the rhetoric surrounding the issue”.
