Baltimore Ravens girding for a fight with Pittsburgh Steelers

If the Ravens win December 25, it would mark the second consecutive year in which Baltimore swept the regular-season series against Pittsburgh.

“This sounds like a coach”.

“That’s not the worst call I’ve ever made”, Mornhinweg said Thursday. The Pittsburgh Steelers come into the game as winners of 5 straight games. In the six games since then, Bell’s averaged 26 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown, plus six catches for 56 receiving yards. Roethlisberger has never used that as an excuse. “To me, that’s what makes it special”.

“If you can’t get up for this one, you’re probably not alive”. I still ran for a touchdown. “So hopefully we’ll stay healthy out there and play our best”.

In the first meeting, Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco was 18 of 30 for 241 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the 21-14 victory. The Ravens held him to a season-low 32 rushing yards in their meeting earlier this season. But a victory on the Steelers home turf, where they snapped a two-game losing streak past year behind kicker Justin Tucker’s 42-yard field goal in regulation to tie and 52-yard bomb to win 23-20 in overtime, would put the Ravens at 5-0 in the division and let them overtake the AFC North lead.

“They present so many challenges and matchups across the board”.

If they can beat the Ravens and win the division, the Steelers are assured of at least one home game in the playoffs. Even if they’re stopping it, still hand the ball to (Bell). Ben is playing outstanding, making plays inside the pocket and outside.

“People talking about me being a dirty player, go slap yourself”, Mitchell said Wednesday. “If we give up a big play that may be the difference”. Pro Football Focus ranks Flacco as just the 23rd best starting quarterback this season heading into Sunday’s game.

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley pointed to the steady play of Jesse James and Xavier Grimble – who filled in capably while Green recovered from offseason ankle surgery and other problems – as proof the Steelers can move the ball without a true downfield complement to Brown.

“It’s not easy to have those finger issues as a wide receiver”, Roethlisberger said. “He is long. He runs”. Roethlisberger had one of the best games of his career, throwing six touchdowns to go along with 340-yards from 25 completions.

If there was any question about how good Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith is, or how much he means to that defense, Week 15’s blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts should remove it. These guys are great at what they do – all of them. The Ravens (8-6), meanwhile, likely need to beat both Pittsburgh and the Cincinnati Bengals in the regular-season finale to capture their first division crown since 2012.

It’s seems clear that the Steelers need to rely on Roethlisberger’s arm to win the game, but you never know. However, Flacco threw an interception on the next play that helped Philadelphia get back in the game.
