Ben Carson defends his fetal tissue research

One interpretation of his remarks is that he’s claiming the fetal tissue he used for research didn’t come from fetuses aborted specifically for use in medical research while insinuating that was what Planned Parenthood was doing.

Carroll, like other House Republicans, said the source of the funds is irrelevant and that no money should go toward Planned Parenthood.

In response to a blogger’s criticism, the retired neurosurgeon and avowed pro-lifer insisted the study, which he helped conduct at John Hopkins Hospital in 1992, was in no way comparable to Planned Parenthood’s practice of distributing tissue from aborted fetuses.

This would mean that Trump’s plan would force Planned Parenthood to completely stop providing abortions, pulling the largest abortion provider out of the abortion industry.

“In Alabama, we’re not going to use taxpayer dollars to support an organization like Planned Parenthood that does things like that”, Bentley said.

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, known as CMS, spoke to health agency officials in both states shortly after each announcement, referencing federal law that requires Medicaid beneficiaries to get covered services from any qualified provider.

Melissa Flourney with Planned Parenthood believes the organization has become a political football.

Carson has recently made several comments reflecting his opposition to Planned Parenthood.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Haslam said legislators have been asking about the state’s relationship to Planned Parenthood after hearing some governors who are running for president say their states have “totally defunded” the organization.

He also addressed allegations that he had used aborted fetal tissue during his medical career, saying, “All pathology departments will have a whole array of tissues, from day one of conception until 99 years old”.

The Obama administration is strong arming a group of states who dropped funding for Planned Parenthood in their Medicaid programs following the release of series of gruesome videos showing fetal organs being sold for profit. We have to absolutely take care of women.

The reality, however, is that each placenta was available for sale because a live unborn baby is now dead due to an abortion at Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood said it is considering filing a lawsuit to have its funding restored in the states.
