Warriors Dealt A Painful Christmas Loss By The Cavs, 109-108
The Cavaliers are hosting the Warriors for a Christmas matinee in Cleveland, but the holidays haven’t changed the National Basketball Association champs’ form of hospitality when it comes to welcoming their playoff rivals. “Are we ready to set ourselves up for a seven-game series between us and the Warriors?”.

After the game Jefferson told reporters he was surprised by the call.
The Dubs have four guys considered to be stars in their starting lineup, the Cavs have three.
The Finals won’t begin until nearly six months after the game on the Warriors home court, but when all is said and done, the two regular season games between the Cavs and Warriors could ultimately decide home-court advantage in the fight for the 2017 championship. We’re not ready for that. If you’ve watched the Warriors play this season, you can see that KD is the clear go-to scorer based on his other-worldly scoring skills.
The Warriors added Kevin Durant in the summer in a move that sent shockwaves through the league, but lost some of their big man presence in the paint in doing so. Simple plays are the best to win the game in this instance.
Game 8 of the 2016 NBA Finals – or rather the Christmas Day game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers – lived up to its billing. The Warriors are on a seven game winning streak that has seen them extend their Western Conference lead over the San Antonio Spurs by 2.5 games.
Also, as ESPN puts it, “It’s just one game, but a particularly painful one for a Golden State team eagerly looking to right the wrongs of last June”. “We’ll enjoy the atmosphere, hopefully get a win and keep it moving”.
The Cavs trailed 94-80 early in the fourth quarter before rallying in front of a rowdy Christmas crowd. And as was the Case in the Finals, it was Irving, who made a 3-pointer in the final minute of Game 7, who made the biggest basket.

But, as we learned time and time again this year: just because an outcome is all but unthinkable and unimaginable, it doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. They played well against LeBron, Irving, and Love who were all hot coming into the game. Social media appears done with the 2-time NBA MVP, and you can tell the media is on the cusp of one of the fastest build-up, tear-downs, in modern history. Curry then fired his first shot in the game at 4:15 – a three-pointer that puts Warriors in an 11-point lead, 49-38. The good news for Golden State (and the fans) is that there’s another matchup during the regular season, on January 16 in Oakland.
