UFC: Rousey’s ex-boyfriend fears for her mental health prior to comeback

But her future remains uncertain with many arguing a second-straight loss will see her walk away from the sport she pioneered. Countdown to UFC 207 tells the story of Rousey’s return as she undergoes a media blackout in preparation to face the unsafe “Lioness”.

Ronda Rousey has been noticeably absent this week as she prepares to make her highly-anticipated return at UFC 207.

“I don’t care about anything except for winning this fight and I’m not spending energy on anything else”, Rousey said.

The last time we saw Rousey, she was getting stunned by Holly Holm.

“Style-wise this fight is a good one for Ronda to come back for as Nunes comes forward and Ronda can throw her around and submit her”. It was a risky decision for Holm, albeit one that was respected and expected to play out in her favor.

“It’s the weeks and weeks of buildup beforehand”, she told the TV host. I feel like they promote her, so she can be strong, like, ‘Ronda, Ronda, Ronda, Ronda.’ But she knows she’s the challenger. “That’s what always seems to be with really competitive people just when they lose, they want to get back in there and do it again and do it again, do it again, do it again”. Submitting McMann with a rear naked choke in just under three minutes, the future champ won performance of the night honors. If your response to us telling you that is “Wait, that’s this week?” you’re not alone.

“I think this is a huge fight and I think both of them should be doing the media, being accessible a little bit to the fans”, Tate added. The UFC isn’t even holding a pre-fight news conference this week. We’d seen it all.

Just four months into her championship reign, Tate’s final days as a titleholder presented themselves. But Amanda Nunes is a knockout artist, that’s the difference.

Nunes’ championship bout against Miesha Tate was a flawless example.

Rousey has been almost invisible since being destroyed by Holm at UFC 193 a year ago, and has openly spoken about her inner demons since her crushing defeat. Since her astonishing loss to Holm she has taken on Hollywood appearing in such films as “Furious 7”, which is part of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, “The Expendables 3” and other films.

Nunes is a fierce striker. However, Rousey’s non-MMA media attention is vast. Where Holm frustrated Rousey with her footwork and elusiveness, Nunes will be right there for her to find. But I don’t think she can beat me.
