‘General’ Sean Lee keeps Dallas Cowboys’ defense in line

With a win, Detroit would win its first division title since 1993 and host a playoff game.

Mickey Spagnola said, “So after the Cowboys lost the season opener at home, they’ve won 6 consecutive games at AT&T Stadium”. Yes, he threw a touchdown pass. A few minutes later came Dallas’ back-breaking 95-yard touchdown drive, capped by a creative but embarrassingly easy Dez Bryant 10-yard scoring pass to Jason Witten. Left tackle Tyron Smith (back, knee), defensive end Tyrone Crawford (shoulder, hamstring), defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (back), cornerback Morris Claiborne (groin), linebacker Justin Durant (elbow) and defensive tackle Cedric Thornton (ankle) did not practice Thursday. (Not sure where this No. 88 was in NY, but that story has been written already). Dak Prescott led the game in passing, completing 15 of 20 attempts for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Otherwise, they would be bounced from the postseason entirely – a stunning collapse for a team that was the NFC’s No. 2 seed just two weeks ago. Defensive linemen Maliek Collins and David Irving are getting better with each game. Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr. and Mike Evans are impact players and arguably the top guys.

The second one was a back shoulder fade in the fourth quarter to give the Cowboys their final points.

We’ll see. Suffice it to say, the Lions’ defense will have little chance of slowing down Aaron Rodgers if it is not better than it was Monday.

The big difference between Stafford and Prescott was that the Cowboys had a three-score lead, which allowed them to hand off the ball or let Prescott be judicious with his passes. Lee gathered the defense on the sideline midway through the second quarter after a five-yard Zach Zenner run put the Lions up 21-14.

Bryant also threw a touchdown pass, believe it or not-the first of his career.

“Obviously proud and happy for him and the team, but my relationship with the Jones family is just very limited”, Stafford said. Maybe? Shoot, we don’t know.

But the teams were way on the other side of the field. I’m coaching, you know. Fun plays like that of course get the fans excited, but they can help keep a player engaged, too.

My answer: I don’t feel much different than I did before the game.

No. 4 played all night and was near ideal (148.3 QB rating, 15-20, 212 yards, three TDs).

Elliott had two rushing touchdowns on the night, one a 55-yard burst, and Prescott threw three touchdowns in the win, although all three of those were overshadowed by the one that tossed by wide receiver Dez Bryant.

NOTES: Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott entered the game with 1,551 rushing yards so far this season. “But our real focus is on this ballgame- trying to get ready”.
