Golden Tate throws some shade at Percy Harvin

“It was a constant thing”, Harvin told Dunne. “It was something that got under my skin”.

He hemmed and hawed and laughed, and after 17 seconds of meaningful silence, Golden Tate asked the reporter to repeat his question.

And that carefully considered response? There was never any jealousy on my end. “I think it was just a misunderstanding between him and I”.

“Everybody calls him “Tough Doug” or ‘Angry Doug, ‘” Harvin said.

The result was Harvin giving Tate a black eye and a getting into a separate fight with Baldwin, Sports Illustrated notes. “I was excited to get him on the field with us”.

Yet leading up to the Super Bowl, privately and publicly, Harvin couldn’t fathom what he heard.

They would switch positions in practice to get the ball more, Harvin said, or pout and protest about it. He said the last time he spoke with or saw Harvin was during the team’s White House visit in the spring of 2014, soon after Tate signed with the Lions in free agency. Harvin said that frustrated him because they were his teammates, but he tried to force a relationship with them that wasn’t there.

Harvin continued, “We all played the same position”.

The Bills were smart to not fully guarantee Harvin’s contract beyond the coming season, so they won’t have to be hampered for very long by an underachieving and injury-prone locker room cancer. “They needed to point out they have been already established having made it to the NFC Championship the yr earlier than I received there”. So they kind of had the approach of, ‘We don’t need anybody else.

Tate, though, says that’s hogwash. Harvin claimed in the interview that both scuffles were initiated by Baldwin and Tate, both of whom felt threatened by Harvin’s presence while in Seattle.

“Man, it feels so nice to return out right here and simply let it unfastened”, Harvin stated. I want to see everybody ball out. Like I said, I wish him the best. “It got messy. And I think what happened was the best for me”.

Where did those comments come from? “I know he can make tough throws and I’m pretty sure he has the strongest arm in the NFL”. At the same time, he’s trying to debunk the stories that say he was the problem during a tumultuous stint with the Seattle Seahawks. “There’s some things in there I think – I don’t think everything in that was totally true”.

Seattle traded for Harvin that year.

Baldwin is the only player of the three remaining in Seattle.

Percy Harvin recently made some disparaging remarks about Golden Tate, and Tate responded by throwing a little shade his way. Harvin, who had hip surgery, only played in one game of the 2013 season, and Baldwin had 50 receptions for 778 yards and five touchdowns.
