Golden Globes 2017: here’s all you need to know

If all of the 2016 Golden Globes looks are any indication of how things are usually done, pre-show viewers can expect to drool over flowing trains, tons of sparkle, and daring necklines. The best acting nominees in a musical or comedy are Colin Farrell for “The Lobster“, Ryan Gosling for “La La Land”, Hugh Grant for “Florence Foster Jenkins”, Jonah Hill for “War Dogs” and Ryan Reynolds for “Deadpool”.

Atlanta – FX’s freshman series starring Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) has the flawless blend of comedy and drama to get on the good side of Hollywood Foreign Press voters. FX’s hit anthology series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story leads the pack with five total nominations including nods for the series various stars including Sarah Paulson and Sterling K. Brown and seems like a prime candidate to walk away as the night’s biggest victor.

Directed by Whiplash writer-director Damien Chazelle, La La Land has reinvented the ol’school musical genre. In film, La La Land, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight, lead the way in nominations and there’s no doubt the cast, writers, and directors behind these films will be on the edge of their seats to see who walks away with the awards.
