Emma Stone Wins First Golden Globe, Gets Standing Ovation From Andrew Garfield
Last night at the Golden Globes saw Ryan Reynolds lay one on Andrew Garfield when Ryan Gosling was announced as the victor of the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, which saw the Deadpool actor lose. The unique choice of production has received critical acclaim around the world and was chosen by the American Film Institute as one of the top ten films of 2016, and it won the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Picture. The film follows the life of a black child as he grows to adulthood in a tough Miami neighborhood. But in all their unpredictable movements during her speech, the roving Golden Globes cameras never once landed on a reaction shot from Garfield who was sitting front and center at the Hacksaw Ridge table. At first, the actress seemed somewhat disinterested in what she was about to be shown, but once she heard her ex’s name, she immediately perked to attention. Shazell also received an award as best director and main actors Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling – as best actor in a comedy or musical.
