“It’s no secret that I like to involve myself in the design process”, said Toyoda, who made the show presentation of the new Camry himself. According to Toyota, the new age Camry takes forward the legacy of all its previous generations with design and characteristics of a modern day everyday vehicle. The Camry’s athletic appearance is also evident in the rear’s sculpted surfaces and flowing lines.

Calty previously worked with Toyota and TRD to update the NASCAR Camry when NASCAR introduced its Gen-6 models in 2013, and again when Toyota updated the Camry race auto in 2015. It also boasts multi-hole fuel injectors, a variable cooling system and Toyota’s computer-controlled variable valve timing system. Both will be paired with eight-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota releases no horsepower or torque figures for either the 4-cyl. or V-6 in the Camry, but promises the former along with the 8AT should give the vehicle class-leading fuel economy.
