Finally, even iPhone users can now sync their accounts and chats to WhatsApp Web.

Cutting it short, basically the WhatsApp web client is a mirror or a reflection of your WhatsApp app, with minor changes to the user interface. Though the app came to the desktop and laptop for Android, Window Phone and BlackBerry users earlier in the year, but it was still away from the reach of iPhone users. The trick is fairly simple onwards: after tapping the “WhatsApp Web” button in the app, as seen on BB 10 or Android, you will have to go over to web.whatsapp.com URL and afterwards scan the QR code shown on the webpage.

Are you going to take WhatsApp Web on Edge for a test drive or wait for the official launch? For those who would prefer to wait, neither WhatsApp Web nor Microsoft have announced an official launch date for WhatsApp Web for Edge. As of now, iOS is already listed on Whatsapp website, but is gradually rolling out to iPhone users in the application’s latest update. That should sync up phone and web.

As 9to5Mac points out, the new functionality is not actually a software update to be received through the App Store. It’s being rolled out on the server side.

WhatsApp, which boasts of 800 million monthly active users, has been aggressively introducing new features for its users, perhaps in an attempt to stay relevant amidst a sea of formidable competitors.

The new feature was initially noticed by users on Reddit. As its name implies, WhatsApp Calling allows users to call each other through the platform using Wi-Fi or cellular data, which helps them save on roaming charges when calling overseas. The main WhatsApp Web updates were reported to include the ability to edit profile photos, managing chats, and improvements to the WhatsApp Web contact and group info panes.
