The next week is going to be a rollercoaster ride for temperatures. We certainly saw both halves of that combo on display today. The winds will be a factor in the morning as well. Northeast wind around 10 miles per hour. In Amarillo, and several locations, we could see record highs.

Drier air returns for Wednesday afternoon with a mix of clouds and sun. Low around 32. South wind 11 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.
Look for the windy and warm weather to continue.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Temperatures will out get in to the mid-30s Friday afternoon. Some patchy drizzle might follow the front Thursday morning. Showers and thundershowers are expected with the front passing and another big drop in temperature.
Today (Wednesday): With a light wind from the south, temperatures don’t start almost as cold as the past few days.

The National Weather Service says any standing water from that melting snow froze overnight. “Ice accumulation of.10” to.20 is possible before temperatures rise above freezing Saturday afternoon.
There could be freezing rain Saturday and Saturday night central.
“Friday night: There is a potential for ice accumulations up to 0.01”. Right now I don’t expect to see much in our area.

Monday, M.L. King Day: A chance of rain or freezing rain. This looks to be a day to two days of icy weather followed by warmer weather late in the weekend into early next week.
