The good news is that we may not have to wait too long to find out; Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S8 next month at MWC 2017 – Barcelona’s annual Mobile World Congress technology tradeshow.

Tech blog The Android Soul mentions an unspecified Korean media report that says Samsung has finalized the specs and design of the phone, and a prototype has been sent to the CEO and vice chairman.

Samsung is finally rolling out Android Nougat 7.0 to unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones. This time, the folks at GSMArena received what appear to be 3D renders of the Galaxy S8 by an anonymous case maker.

An official release date of April 18 has actually been drifted; however a spokesperson from Samsung informed the publication it could not validate the details of the Galaxy S8 launch. The phone doesn’t have the home button that has graced the Galaxy S phones since 2010 when the original was launched.

Beyond stretching the screen and ditching the home button, the Galaxy S8 looks mostly familiar-at least as far as the hardware is concerned. The case indicates the single lens camera and the lack of physical Home Button which was rumored previous year. The earlier render by Ghostek and MobileFun did not have the flash and heart rate sensor at the rear of the device.

Foldable smartphones may soon become a reality if the latest reports are to be believed, with Samsung becoming the pioneer of this particular technological advancement with the release of the Galaxy X. Additionally we can see a USB port – is it USB 2.0 – as well as a 3.5mm jack.

The phone does look a little awkward when it comes to an ergonomic perspective, but we’re sure Samsung will ensure it is comfortable to hold it. One is supposedly going to measure 5.7-inch and feature a single camera on its back, while the other Plus version may feature a 6.2-inch screen and a dual-snapper setup.
