However, Fox News reported that two Americans were injured.

“Perhaps the strongest hypothesis is that this person had gone there to demand they comply with protection payments”, he added at a news conference.
But the shooting apparently caused a rush of people heading for the exits at the beachside club, and the lone female victim was killed during the stampede. A confused shootout ensued in which guards – it is not clear whether festival security personnel or the Mexican’s bodyguards – returned fire. It had escaped much of the bloody violence that have plagued Mexico’s western coastal tourists spots, such as Acapulco. It’s the bar and club scene that we all go to on our days off.
“A lot of people were panicking”, said Alvarez, who lost his prosthetic teeth while fleeing.
The festival has been running for 10 years and is popular with foreign tourists.
DJ Jackmaster, from Glasgow, who had headlined at the club on Thursday and is the co-founder of a number of record labels, including Numbers, Wireblock, Dress 2 Sweat and Point. One Recordings, urged people to stay inside during the attack.
“The shooters didn’t seem to enter the club, they just kind of shot towards the front entrance and did not get in”.
Three people died attempting to protect others during the shooting. But in a subsequent news conference he corrected this to say the victims were one Canadian, an Italian, a USA citizen and two Mexicans.
Valerie Lee, Mixmag’s USA digital editor, said hewas at Blue Parrot when the shooting happened.
Video footage showed people running from the Blue Parrot club and ducking for cover.

George de Menezes told The Independent: “We were in the Blue Parrot nightclub and literally two metres from us shots started going off”. “We stopped and hid behind a cement wall, then crawled under a metal table”. “I’m very grateful to God he gave me the life and the strength to get out of that area in time before anything worse happened”, he said. “We kept hiding until they opened the back gate and we ran outside”, Lee said.
