Trump, who takes office on Friday, campaigned for president on promises of banning Muslims from entering the United States or imposing more severe restrictions on migrants from countries or regions with high levels of militant Islamist activity.

During an interview with representatives of the Times of London and German publication Bild, President-elect Donald Trump touched on some of the recent political upheavals in Europe, such as Brexit, and the heat German leader Angela Merkel is facing in her country.
In response to Mr. Trump’s comments, Ms. Merkel said Europe now had to take responsibility for itself. “I think Brexit is going to end up being a great thing”.
Mr Trump described European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker, who rang him to congratulate him on his election victory, as “a very fine gentleman”. “However, the idea that the USA – the dominant military force in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation – might not defend an ally frightened many in Brussels and beyond”.
“The attack on the Chancellor is not an argument we can accept as Frenchmen or as Europeans”, he said. “We are making enormous financial contributions to refugee shelters in the region, and these are also the results of USA interventionist policy”.
“Let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia”, Mr. Trump said in remarks carried by The Times.
Trump would have to deal with the consequences of his remarks after his inauguration later this week, Kerry said.
Trump, who predicted that the United Kingdom would vote to leave the European Union, said it was a “smart” move as the institution was too biased towards one country.
Trump added: “A lot of these countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to be paying, which I think is very unfair to the United States”.
In a hard-hitting interview with two European newspapers, the U.S. president-elect unleashed a volley of verbal attacks on the European Union, hailing Britain’s decision to leave the bloc and saying more countries were going to leave also. In his weekend interview he reiterated his frustration over the failure of many alliance members to meet their defense spending obligations, suggesting to many that his views are unlikely to change.
“NATO is working but there are things about it that need to change and there are parts of it that are, in the words of Trump, ‘obsolete, ‘” Scaramucci said.
The agreement “has delivered both on the nuclear-related commitments Iran took and on the firm determination of the worldwide community to fully implement this deal”, she said.
In the wide-ranging interview, Trump also expressed hope that the USA can “make some good deals” with Russian Federation, including reducing nuclear weapons in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions. In addition, 300 U.S. Marines landed in Norway on Monday to join in training exercises.

But Anthony Scaramucci said the incoming president had an “enormous amount of respect for her”.
