Trump lashes out at Congressman John Lewis in early-morning tweetstorm
After a weekend of nasty sparring between the two politicians that was put on pause for MLK Day, Trump drew attention on Twitter to Lewis’ questionable claim he’s never missed a swearing-in. The books chart Lewis’ life journey, from the child of sharecroppers in Alabama to a leader of the Civil Rights movement showing he is indeed a man of all action and results. Of course, as Meyers pointed out, Obama faced such questioning relentlessly, most notably from Trump himself and his accusations about the president’s birth certificate.

Dozens of Congress members, including many from California, said Trump’s Twitter attack on Lewis went too far.
Support for Lewis didn’t stop there.
Duffy compared the Democrats who are participating in the boycott to children who are “used to getting a juice box and a trophy” even when they lose. “You can not be at home with something that you feel that is wrong, is not right”, he said. It turns out that it is not.
Lewis didn’t attend President George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2001. Bush prevailed after a weeks-long, controversy-laden recount that ended with a 5-4 Supreme Court decision.
The reason behind it: Georgia Congressman John Lewis.
“John Lewis has a walk that very few people in this country, least of all Donald Trump, have ever walked, so you have to respect that”, Mr Steele said on MSNBC.
Lewis also co-organized and spoke at the March on Washington, when King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech-he’s the last living speaker from the rally, having been 23 at the time.
President-elect Donald Trump is to appear in an interview on Fox News’ morning show Fox & Friends on Wednesday (18 January 2017) to talk about his inauguration on Friday.

Warren was directly asked if she shared Lewis’s views that Trump wasn’t “a legitimate president”, in part because he believed Russian interference helped Trump defeat Hillary Clinton.
