Democratic Rep. Lewis: Trump not a ‘legitimate president’
“@CellusDaMenace posted, “Jim Brown” ahead of my time…great football player but the person gives me red flags as a black man speaking on the behalf of the rest”. “That’s because he hasn’t earned it”.

All eyes will be on the US Capitol as Trump formally replaces President Barack Obama in the White House.
A 2015 report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation ranked Atlanta as 14 among 20 of the most violent USA cities.
“I have made a decision to attend tomorrow’s event, in large measure to be present in Washington for Barack Obama’s final presidential moment as a great leader of this nation”.
Despite the weekend furor that caused, Trump doubled down Tuesday.
At least 60 Democratic members of Congress declined to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Donald Trump, including more than a dozen from California. Trump fired back on Twitter, saying that Lewis’ district is “falling apart” and “crime infested”.
Last fall, the third of Lewis’ “March” books, on which he collaborated with Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell, won the National Book Award in the young people’s literature category. He is a diehard Democrat and was just shattered by Trump’s victory. He certainly doesn’t speak for me! “John Lewis’ comments about President-elect Donald Trump are completely disrespectful”. The president has been steadfast all along in not questioning the legitimacy of Trump’s election, and in setting a tone of cooperation with his successor and facilitating a smooth transition. Because of the use of the hacked material by Trump during the campaign as though it was credible material. The more they engage in the politics of protest and disrespect, the more Trump will be able to marginalize them. “I will proudly stand alongside my friend – President Obama – one final time as he departs office after eight extraordinary years of leadership”. I support him doing what he’s doing, and I think that he supports me doing what I’m doing.
Later Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., joined the boycott.
Lewis isn’t alone, unfortunately. Cities across the United States are staging marches in conjunction with the Women’s March on Washington, which is expected to draw thousands. If this had happened during either of Obama’s inaugurals, lawmakers and protestors would be called racists. We all, Democrats and Republicans alike, dictate how much dignity should be afforded to the office of the president. Elected representatives like Jayapal decided that they would not attend Trump’s inauguration. It is focused on working class Americans, not wasting money on pomp, ceremony and self-congratulations. “But what the revelation does do is make it more hard to paint his opposition to Trump in anything but a partisan way”.

Liberal lawmakers and protesters should hold a fake inauguration so they can revere their “legitimate” candidate Hillary Clinton. And what message would you send to Democrats to better demonstrate the peaceful transfer of power?
