Trump signs exec. order on Obamacare, issues first orders to agencies

Trump said his administration would most likely ease the burden on lower-income Americans through Medicaid, which he said he would he’d like to see controlled by the states through a fixed-funding mechanism known as block grants. Republicans in the US Congress have not yet laid out a plan to recast the insurance program.

The president has said he wants to keep some of the measure’s more popular elements, including allowing young people to stay on their parents’ insurance until age 26 and preventing insurance companies from denying coverage to people with pre-exiting conditions.

“It is not enough to simply repeal this bad legislation”, Trump said.

Agency heads will also still have to go through the normal rule-making process to adjust or rollback certain regulations – a process that can take months.

It’s almost impossible that this will remain the case much longer.

Alexander noted that he was looking forward to repealing the law but also to “replacing it simultaneously with concrete, practical reforms that give Americans access to truly affordable health care”.

“Since March of 2010, the American people have had to suffer under the incredible economic burden of the Affordable Care Act-Obamacare”, Trump said. “You really cut out the fraud, waste and abuse, and you get the help directly to them”. ‘That’s not going to happen with us’. If he’s confirmed, Rep. Tom Price, Trump’s pick to lead HHS, could have granted blanket hardship exemptions before the executive order was issued, but in case there was any question, the folks at HHS now have their bosses’ itemized list of priorities.

Q: What is Congress’ plan for the Affordable Care Act?

The result of the vote was 51 senators in favor of dismantling against 48.

It looks like American citizens will not have very long to make plans to get new insurance after Donald Trump, 70, became president on January 20. The birth control mandate is low-hanging fruit; all it requires is the state insurance regulators putting out new guidance on what health plans must cover. People who are eligible for subsidies due to their income are still faced with these, in my opinion, huge deductibles which must first be met before benefits are paid are no better off than the rest of us.
