West Ham fans react on Twitter to Cresswell display v Man City

Five of City’s seven away Premier League wins have been achieved without them cleaning a clean sheet so that’s something to bear in mind.

The outcome leaves United with 42 points, four behind City in the battle for a top-four finish and a berth in the 2017-2018 Champions League.

“He doesn’t have to be too anxious because Chelsea are nine points ahead [of anyone else]”, Guardiola said at his post-match media conference.

The Chilean has endured a hard start to life in the Premier League, however, and was benched in favour of Willy Caballero.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was watching from the stands and must have been impressed by City.

“(But) then you expect someone who proclaims he is a genius in football to go in and sort it out, but I don’t think he will. New signings Jose Fonte and Robert Snodgrass are both included in the squad for this game with the former expected to start. And should City play like this for the rest of the campaign, this season’s title race may not be over.

While West Ham was essentially forced into selling Dimitri Payet this week, they’ve been playing better without him as of late. “We are not in a position to think about the big goals, 10 points is too much”.

West Ham fans highlighted the performance of defender Cresswell against Man City and feel he really struggled. We were so aggressive without the ball.

“With the long balls he was able to keep going and fight against guys who are taller than him”.

“West Ham arrived today in a good moment so of course, we’re very happy”.

“We have seven strikers, but to be able to play at a high level, it depends on how we want to play”, Guardiola said.

“The prospect was good. We’ll have to stay positive to get back on winning track”.

City’s front three of Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling were all heavily involved in the comprehensive victory, and Guardiola reiterated his belief that the trio will be the “future of the club”.

While Guardiola acknowledges that they are the future of the club, he has warned them that they must also produce in the present.
