Nordstrom Draws Trump’s Ire After Dropping Ivanka’s Products
The tweet was sent at 10:51 a.m., twenty-one minutes after the president’s daily intelligence briefing was scheduled to start. Asked by a customer on Twitter whether the company would carry the brand next season, Nordstrom said it makes those decisions “season by season”. “We’ve had open conversations with them over the past year to share what we’ve seen and Ivanka was personally informed of our decision in early January”, said the spokesperson.

A social media campaign called Grab Your Wallet has urged a boycott of stores that stock Ivanka Trump or Donald Trump products.
The New York Times is reporting that T.J. Maxx and Marshalls employees have also been instructed to discard any Ivanka Trump signage and remove her merchandise from any special featured areas.
Nordstrom shares dipped after the president’s tweet, but recovered and ended 4 points higher by the end of the day’s trading.
More and more retailers are slowly making moves to distance themselves from the Ivanka Trump brand.
The founder says she’s tracked more than 230,000 tweets about it, and we found plenty too. However, an anonymous employee stated that she’s never received a request like so in the entire seven years she’s worked for the company.
Press spokesman Sean Spicer said that Nordstrom’s decision was political, and the president was simply reacting to “an attack” on his daughter. “I will no longer step in that store until they dump Ivanka Trump”.
Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, is a senior White House advisor.
Just this morning, President Donald Trump rebuked department store chain Nordstrom for cutting ties with Ivanka Trump’s brand, which definitively backfired.
Ivanka Trump ran a clothing and jewelry business bearing her name, in addition to other work for the Trump Organization, before saying she would resign when her father was sworn in as president.

Spicer characterized the executive tweet as the action of a father who is proud of his daughter and her accomplishments and that he was standing up for her.
