Gaga To Perform With Metallica At Tonight’s Grammy Show

As for Metallica, the metal greats was nominated last night for Best Rock Song for “Hardwired”, but lost to David Bowie’s “Blackstar”. During Metallica’s collaboration with Lady Gaga, James Hetfield spent a few moments singing into a non-working microphone. Continuing the tradition of live performances during the awards, musicians spanning vastly different genres will appear, including The Weeknd, Daft Punk, Adele, Demi Lovato, Chance the Rapper, Carrie Underwood, and A Tribe Called Quest. Thus, it won’t be too surprising if GaGa chose to get a huge tattoo of moth for her duet with the rock band tonight. He also seems to tear strips off someone at the side of the stage.

“Ladies and gentleman, all my gender non-binary people watching tonight, eight-time Grammy award winners and six-time Grammy victor, Lady Gaga”, she said, before fans pointed out her error. Despite the technical difficulty, they put on an explosive performance. This time it was alongside Metallica, a seemingly odd pairing that nevertheless produced some fascinating results.

“And if they’re really good, part of them always stays there”. It skews far more country and Americana than metal, but Gaga clearly has a tremendous amount of respect for the genre. In a Reddit AMA from a couple of years ago, she professed her love for Metallica, as well as bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and Judas Priest.

While not everyone was a fan of James Hetfield swapping vocals with a pop superstar, Lady Gaga recently praised Metallica-and the band’s live shows, in particular-during an appearance on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music radio show.

Things were kicked off by Lady Gaga, who stormed the stage with a series of sexy dance moves, before leaping down to the stage and taking take hold of the mic.
