No word yet on why Warner Bros.is considering Mel Gibson to direct Suicide Squad 2 or if the rumor is even true. They also look at the other names on WB’s list and pick their favorite candidates. As long as this deal gets finalized, the Batman News hosts feel great about the franchise, regardless of what happens with Ben Affleck. Hacksaw Ridge has made him receive offers once more. These dark, troubled and heavily armed characters were played by an impressive line-up of stars, including Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith and Cara Delevingne. So I don’t know.

Would you like to see Mel Gibson take over the Suicide Squad? The acclaimed film has nabbed a slew of Academy Award nominations, and it has put Gibson back on the map as a forward-thinking filmmaker. According to Variety, directors Jonathan Levine (who directed Warm Bodies) and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) are also being considered by the studio, just in case Gibson thinks that making a DC movie might hurt his reputation.

Warner Bros.is now dealing with some behind-the-scenes Batman drama after reports surfaced that Ben Affleck not only wants out of directing The Batman, but out of the role entirely. Gibson is now riding the wave of a career resurrection thanks to his Oscar-nominated Hacksaw Ridge, his first directorial effort in a decade.

Gibson responded to a series of reports stating that he was being courted for the job while appearing at a screening of his latest film, Best Picture nominee “Hacksaw Ridge”, in Santa Monica on Wednesday night. Gibson, to his good fortune, has a reputation for both.
