The 59th Annual Grammy Awards: Was it a hit or a miss?
After Adele’s name was read out for the final award of the night, the British star came back out after just having accepted record of the year in tears. The only ones that were there were Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Adele, Katy Perry, Rhianna and Jennifer Lopez. On the other hand, even Beyonce bagged a lot of accolades starting from Best Contemporary Pop Album (Lemonade) and Best Video (Formation).

“I can’t possibly accept this award”. Bey’s “Hold Up” was up for Best Pop Solo Performance but lost to “Hello” as well.
As for the question of Adele and Michael’s association prior to this evening, it appears that the two were, in fact, somewhat friendly before his untimely passing previous year. She swore in her performance and apologized to the crowd for it but, exclaimed she had to start over because she couldn’t mess this performance up for him.
Salonge seems to have been throwing a fit on the social media platform because her sister did not win the award despite having one of the most successful albums of 2016.
Beyoncé’s Grammy performance was one that is quickly going down in history as one of the best live awards show performances of all time. Use the old gramophone to actually listen bro, I’m one of the best alive.
Former “Destiny’s Child” bandmate Kelly Rowland also tweeted her support with a series of bee emoji.
Only 10 black artists have ever won Album Of The Year; the last was Herbie Hancock, then 67, for a collection of Joni Mitchell covers in 2008.
Which is exactly what the Grammys did for “Hello”.
In the wise words of Beyonce’s (admittedly humble, gracious and also talented) competitor, Adele, “What the f-k does she have to do to win album of the year?”.

“The Color Purple” won best musical theater album, giving Jennifer Hudson her second Grammy and earning Tony victor Cynthia Erivo and “Orange Is the New Black” actress Danielle Brooks their first Grammys.
