Today, Facebook is beginning the roll out of a new feature that allows job seekers to link up to hiring managers without ever leaving the platform.

Facebook Inc.is rolling out a new feature for Canadian and USA businesses that will let them post jobs directly on the world’s largest social media network, a move that places LinkedIn Corp.in the line of fire. These will appear inside a new tab as we see in the image “Jobs”, besides being visible in the News Feeds. When they click on the Apply Now button, a form will open that is pre-populated with information from their profiles on Facebook.

Unlike more traditional approaches, there’s no job hunt – the jobs are on users’ News Feeds whenever they log on to Facebook.

Company page admins on Facebook can now create job posts, track applications, and communicate with applicants.

In the last several months, Facebook has been making a renewed effort to appeal to enterprise customers with new features designed with them in mind.

Companies’ Pages will be able to create jobs and users/job seekers will have an “Apply Now” option in addition to Like, Comment and Share options. The company representatives who are managing business pages at Facebook will examine the applications.

The new function is a flawless fit for Facebook’s ease of communication and local sensibility, meaning that jobs will be shown directly to people in the same general area as the business.

What is the best social network to visit when you’re looking for a new job? The new feature will roll out gradually to US and Canadian businesses over the next few weeks. Starting tomorrow, the social network will allow business pages to host job ads and anyone interested in the positions will be able to apply directly via Facebook. Hyder said it seems that the company is trying to move into the same space as the Chinese website WeChat, which is less like a social network and more like a complete internet on its own.

The challenge for Facebook: People are frequently reluctant to commingle their personal and professional lives – and with good reason.

Certain details for the application will be automatically filled in from the user’s Facebook data, including the user’s name, location, and profile picture, to speed up the process.
