Leicester must learn from Millwall’s ‘gladiators’ – Ranieri

The League One side beat Premier League champions Leicester City in this afternoon’s FA Cup sixth round clash, and now have a pretty unique record over a handful of their loftier opponents.

The 10 men of piled further the misery on beleaguered Premier League champions Leicester City with a deserved 1-0 win in the fifth round.

“I want to speak again with the players and say we have to fight every match”, an animated Ranieri said.

Craig believes that the victories were a result of Millwall’s positive displays, rather than the top-flight teams underestimating them. “We spend a lot of man hours doing this and we miss out on good players at times because we feel they would not fit in our dressing room”.

“I want to see this”. “We could also lose, but we’d fight every match”.

Then, at the death, Shaun Cummings bagged a dramatic victor when he picked up Lee Gregory’s pass before firing past Ron-Robert Zieler in the Leicester goal.

He said: ‘At Spurs I was behind some of the greatest goalkeepers in the world so I knew I wasn’t going to get to play there. “It put the pressure and expectation on to Leicester’s shoulders and my players did not freeze”.

“The atmosphere in the stadium was electric”.

Leicester have complained to the Football Association over “abuse, provocation and intimidation” they say their fans suffered at Millwall.

“For this reason, it’s important the players reset everything and we restart in positive way”.

Objects were thrown between the two sets of fans, stewards had to hold back both sets of supporters and police horses were needed to restore order. Eventually, and rather predictably, such exuberance spilled into a postmatch pitch invasion and a stand-off with Leicester fans.
