Monaco geared up for the clash with a disappointing 1-1 draw at lowly Bastia in Ligue 1 last Friday but City have no reason for over-confidence after being held to a 0-0 stalemate at second-tier Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.

And it would appear as though City boss Pep Guardiola is taking the threat the Colombian worldwide poses seriously, and explained why he’s managed to claw his way back from the edge. I am really impressed how good they are. Now that he has Falcao, Valere Germain and Mbappe coming through, he now has players who can put the ball in the back of the net and that’s making a big difference. They are killers in the box.

The Belgium global recently became a father and said he has had little time to watch football but added: “Before training and during training we will be talking about them”.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed that Manchester United and Chelsea target Bernado Silva has attracted interest from “major European clubs”, according to the Mirror.

As is always the case in away games, Monaco need to score.

Radamel Falcao is happy again, playing in a system that suits him and banging in the goals. They attack with a lot of people, that’s why you can not control the counter-attack.

That remarkable figure alone points towards this being a high-scoring encounter, and there are other reasons to suspect the three-goal barrier will be broken.

Sevilla warmed up for the visit of struggling English champions Leicester City with a 2-0 victory over Eibar on Saturday. “It is very important for people who look at us, evaluate us and criticise us to see we are going in the right direction”.

Manchester City XI: Caballero; Sagna, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy; Toure, De Bruyne, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Sane.

As it is, this Champions League match might give some AS Monaco players a preview of their future home, as Manchester City has been reportedly chasing down four of Les Monegasques’s stars. These two teams are in great form at the moment but Monaco has a longer unbeaten streak. Although, I’m not sure he’ll start the game but I think he’ll be a threat from the bench, and with his pace and technique could prove a real handful.

Sportsmail understands no contact has been made with Cabellero’s representatives yet, but the 35-year-old could yet be presented with a fresh one-year contract. “They are two teams who play good football with excelent players, who can decide the knock-out at any time”.

“It doesn’t bother me at all that I haven’t scored as often”, he said.

Monaco now rate Lemar in the £30m range, but his price could go further up with a host of other clubs including Manchester City keen on his services.
