Actor Bill Paxton, whose extensive career included films such as Twister, Aliens, and Titanic, has died, a representative for his family said in a statement.
Bill Paxton got his start acting in the late 70s and early 80s in movies like Crazy Mama, but he really broke out following his roles in movies like The Terminator and Weird Science.
Actor Bill Paxton has died due to complications from surgery, People magazine reported.
Paxton worked continuously throughout the ’90s, teaming up with Cameron again to play sleazy auto salesman in True Lies, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Kurt Russell in the great Tombstone, and feeling right at home with one of the best ensemble casts of the ’90s in Ron Howard’s Apollo 13.
“Bill Paxton was a big-hearted, thoughtful and honorable person”, his “Big Love” co-star Chloe Sevigny said in a statement.

On TV, Paxton spent five seasons as the lead on the HBO drama Big Love, playing the patriarch of a polygamous Mormon family in modern-day Utah, a role that earned him three Golden Globe nominations.
After connecting with James Cameron, he starred for the filmmaker in 1984’s The Terminator, 1986’s Aliens and 1994’s True Lies.
Ever since I heard the announcement of Bill Paxton’s death on Sunday morning, I’ve realized that there’s a whole lot I didn’t know about the talented actor. Paxton was never nominated but appeared in several Oscar-winning movies and was beloved and respected throughout Hollywood and beyond. “I was able to tell him so when we met years ago”.
Condolences to the family of Bill Paxton. Bill was playful-yet-dutiful in his work as an actor, and likewise capable of being a strong and serious leader when directing a challenging scene on a movie set.
And Tom Hanks, who features in the tragic actor’s final film, upcoming release The Circle, wrote, “Bill Paxton was, simply, a wonderful man”.
