YouTube TV is now official.

As is the case with many streaming services, YouTube TV is missing some rather popular channels.

YouTube unveiled a new live TV service on Tuesday, setting up another major threat to cable and satellite companies.

YouTube has unveiled details of its live OTT service, offering major U.S. networks ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, for $35 per month. YouTube TV’s DVR will be included in all subscriptions, and will allow users to record as many shows as they want – with no storage limits. Each recording will be available across supported playback devices and will be stored for nine months. The deal also includes access to the content hidden behind the paywall of YouTube Red, the company’s own premium video service, and Showtime and Fox Soccer Plus can be thrown in as well, for an extra fee. There is no contract, and six users can access the content at any time. YouTube TV also doesn’t have quite as large of a channel selection as other services. One of the highlighted features of the app is that you can store unlimited episodes of your favorite shows with Google’s cloud stirage. YouTube didn’t mention whether or not YouTube TV customers will get ad-free YouTube service, as YouTube Red subscribers do.

YouTube TV will launch in the coming months and will start off with over 40 networks available for streaming.

A subscription includes access to the four major USA networks – ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC – as well as channels such as ESPN, The CW, Disney, MSNBC and Fox News.

According to NBC News, the average cable set-up costs $99 a month, and prices continue to rise.
