Google on Thursday announced that its AI-powered virtual assistant will now be available with a wider range of smartphones running on Nougat and Marshmallow flavour of Android.

The company has posted a video on YouTube confirming the rollout, although an announcement about it was made a few days ago.
As of now, Google Assistant is being rolled out to English users in the USA, and will be followed by the English in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as German-speakers in Germany.
Google has decided to make it even easier to search for GIFs while in conversations with the latest update.
Quite early at the MWC, Google promised that we were going to be seeing more of its Assistant service soon. Google is now finally rolling out the Google play services update containing the new and shiny assistant. It was initially limited to the Pixel handsets, Android Wear 2.0 and Google’s speakers, but now, Google has launched the tool for recent Android smartphones. Nonetheless, Google Assistant will increase any smartphone’s user experience by a large margin. As long as you keep Android itself up-to-date, you’ll get the tool as soon as it’s made available to your device.
The Google Assistant debuted with the Google Pixel phones a year ago and was a runaway success amidst both critics and users. And if you are in for some random fun, just type @lucky, add a phrase, and the app will itself insert a randomly picked GIF into the chat.
With the latest update, it will be easier to bring Google Assistant into your chats. If there’s a new version available, it’ll show links to APK mirror and Google Play, where applicable. As you already know that some times GIF or an emoji speaks louder than words.

Google will install the fantastic virtual assistant via an update to their Google Play Services and people should see the updated software pop-up in the Play Store.
