Alec Baldwin to co-write satire book on Trump

Baldwin will also record the audiobook version (in his Trump voice, naturally).

The next book will be a parody memoir written from the perspective of Trump, who Baldwin frequently portrays on “Saturday Night Live”. And comedian Michael Ian Black released a children’s book before Trump was even elected, titled A Child’s First Book of Trump, serving as a cautionary warning of a villainous character. I’ve said this countless times, but to me, Trump is someone who is always searching for a stronger, better word-and he never finds it.

This isn’t surprising as Alec Baldwin told ABC News in January that “there’s discussions about other venues we might pursue to further express our gratitude and admiration for the Trump administration”. The story of the 2017 Correspondents’ Dinner, which will be held in April, will be about presence: who’s attending and who isn’t. Is it possible to impersonate the president during the Dinner? The trick to a good Trump, according to Baldwin?

Reuters’ Jeff Mason, the White House Correspondents’ Association president, seemed to splash some cold water on that rumor. He hosts the radio show Studio 360 on WNYC.

And the President has made no secret of his hatred of the portrayal, tweeting in December: ‘Just tried watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! “It is extreme”, Anderson said, “and with a guy like Donald Trump, to be effective it needs to be extreme”.

Kimmel told Baldwin, “it should be whoever the president hates seeing the most, and that’s undoubtedly you”. Back in October, Decider reported on the possibility of Baldwin “borrowing” his Trump impression from another comic, Anthony Atamanuik.
